International Women’s Day is an annual celebration of the achievements and contributions of women around the world. Each year in Australia and globally, organisations, schools and community groups come together to recognise this important day.

This year’s theme is: Count Her In
This theme calls for action on creating greater economic inclusion for women and girls — not just here in Australia, but across the world.

We celebrate International Women’s Day to shine a light on women’s achievements, but also to continue the campaign for equality. True equality benefits everyone — it means breaking down barriers and ending discrimination so that all people can thrive. Together, we are stronger.

Keynote Speaker: Jelena Dokic ✨

We are honoured to welcome Jelena Dokic as the keynote speaker for the 2026 International Women’s Day Luncheon which will be held at the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre on Friday 13^th March 2026.

Jelena’s story is one of extraordinary resilience, determination and triumph. From reaching World No. 4 in professional tennis and becoming a Grand Slam finalist at just 18, to her acclaimed career as a bestselling author and commentator, she has inspired millions worldwide.

Behind her success, Jelena endured unimaginable challenges, including 15 years of abuse from her father, which profoundly impacted her mental health. At just 22, she reached breaking point but chose to fight back — turning her struggles into a story of survival, strength and hope.
