Originally situated at the intersection of Hervert, Callandoon, and Russel Street and revealed on the 21st of September 1922, the Goondiwindi War Memorial was built by members of the public to commemorate the fallen soldiers of WWI. The memorial was later moved in 1949, after the events of WWII, to Town Park where memorial gates were erected to also pay respects to those who fought and died in the Second World War.
