Former Texas Police Station

The former Texas Police Station was erected in 1889 on a site close to the Durmaresq River, but relocated to a new site on higher ground after a major flood in 1890. The Police Station was one of the first buildings erected in Texas and is now located within the Texas Historical Society grounds.
