The old strainer post marks the end of the original Dingo Barrier Fence that, at its construction, was the longest fence in the world being 8320 km in length. Along with the strainer post you will also find a replica of the old fence, and creative silhouettes of dingoes, kangaroo and sheep. The Dingo Barrier Fence started at the Great Australian Bight in the south west of South Australia and ran across the state to the north west, New South Wales border. It then ran into Queensland and up to Cloncurry before starting south to terminate at Yelarbon. Today, sheep flocks in Queensland, New South Wales
