Heading west needn’t mean giving up your little luxuries. If you’re a visitor who prefers creature comforts, we have you covered in Goondiwindi Region. From heavenly Airbnb’s to the perfect place to unwind, and others to spend a little or a lot – (of money or time!) – read on for your guide to local luxury in Goondiwindi.

Where to stay

Goondiwindi is home to stunning Airbnb’s where you can relax and recharge or have as the base to host an incredible weekend away. Gumnut Cottage, close to the centre of town, has a striking black weatherboard exterior and pink flowering gums out the front, and inside is just as beautiful with gingham wallpapers, luxe linens and a fully equipped kitchen.

For traditional country style lovers, Bronte House BnB boasts gorgeous classic interiors of timber touches and white linens, an included alfresco breakfast on the back veranda and a host with the absolute most.

If you’re looking to relax a little further out of town, Victoria Park Farm Guesthouse is for you. Think access to a tennis court, pool, crisp interiors layered with vintage treasures and incredible sunsets for a taste of true country luxury.

For those with larger groups, Goondiwindi’s newest offering Wil + Olive (pictured at left) boasts 7 bedrooms, accommodating 16 guests, making it the ultimate destination for bridal parties, families or group getaways. With every corner thoughtfully designed with local art, luxury linens and natural finishes - and only a moments stroll from the centre of town, this is your next girls’ trip dream come true.

Prefer the convenience of a motel? 40 on Marshall is Goondiwindi’s newest boutique motel offering – with stunning bathrooms, king rooms and all the amenities you could need (including room service from the Royal Hotel below) your centre-of-town accommodation is sorted.

Where to eat

You will always start your day right in Goondiwindi - with the perfect cup of coffee available from more than one beautiful location. Like Kitsch (pictured at right), The Larder & Sip by Sculpt on the River. The Larder is also your go-to for a dine-in cooked breakfast on the weekends.

To make the most of your time in Goondiwindi, we suggest a progressive, wandering evening out - start at the top of Marshall Street with a cocktail and entrée at the Queensland Hotel’s festoon-lit beer garden (also home to the chicest, black and white caravan bar), before meandering down to the Town House Restaurant for your main meal, where the lamb shanks or salmon are particularly delicious. Still early? Continue your stroll further down Marshall Street and cosy into the leather couches in front of the fireplace at the Victoria Hotel for a night cap and dessert.

Prefer to stay in but can’t compromise on quality? You are our kind of human! Call in to the Larder Market (pictured at top of blog) for ingredients to build the cheeseboard of your dreams – or even better get Mel or one of the girls there to build one for you (not a dish to be washed in sight!).

And for dinner? Order ahead with a lamb box from local, all grass fed and finished, Macintyre Brook Lamb and enlist the help of Jodie Jeans, an incredible local caterer to be your private chef for the night. This option would only suit an AirBnb with a full kitchen, but lucky we already have you sorted with heaps of those!

Where to sweat

Sculpt Pilates - paulina eaborn

We know sweating isn’t usually synonymous with luxury, but after stepping foot inside Sculpt Pilates Studio (pictured at right), you’ll change your mind. Floor to ceiling sheer white curtains, towering fiddle leaf figs and finishing your workout with a fresh, cold lavender washcloth over your eyes? Yeah, sign us up… You can even sit and soak in the view of the Macintyre River with a freshly made coffee from their hole-in-the-wall coffee cart, Sip by Sculpt on your way out too.

Where to treat yourself

Goondiwindi is home to many beautiful boutique hair and beauty salons who know how to help you relax and unwind. For a beauty treatment to rival any city experience head to The Soul Spa at Magnolia House or You at Georgie’s, both in Marshall Street. The perfect pedi can also be booked ahead at Beauty 4390, also in Marshall Street.

Keen to have the perfect blowout for your getaway? Start your stay at The Hair Priestess – for group bookings salon owner Jess has also been known to make a killer cheeseboard in her courtyard while the rest of the group chatters away and awaits their turn.

If a massage is more your style, Amy from Balance Therapy within Magnolia House is a magician, just make sure to pre-book all your spoily sessions ahead of time.
